I agree with all that, but........

At some point this thread was funny even though the outcome for most interested wasn't. But not it is just a whining zone.

Alright. Speculation time. Number one, Juhani's blog mentions:

...we are actively planning the best way to ... find a solution that fits to both all you dear Jolla Tablet contributors and to our future business plans, together with our investors.
Number two:

In other words, all of our backers will not get a Jolla Tablet. However, you can be sure you will not end up empty handed.
So. The tablet project is over, and most folks will not be receiving a tablet. However, tablet backers will receive something. Moreover, that something is explicitly in line with Jolla's business plans and Jolla's investors.

I'm not sure that focussing on Jolla's investors will help too much; in the end, all any investor really wants is a return on their investment, and that can be accomplished in any number of ways. But Jolla's business plans are more straightforward: at the end of the day, their goal has always been to license Sailfish to hardware manufacturers. Manufacturing and selling their own hardware is getting them nowhere (actually, given this tablet debacle, it is actively harming the company).

Therefore, I would suggest that Jolla management is intensely interested in getting non-Jolla devices running a licensed copy of Sailfish into users hands as aggressively as possible. Any such device. So yeah, the upcoming Intex phone, maybe the Fairphone, some upcoming Russian device, etc. I would suspect that their plan is to give each contributor a heavily discounted or free unit of one of these devices, along with a sincere apology.

This would seem to be the most logical way, with respect to Jolla's business plans, to finish off the tablet issue. Not a solution I personally prefer, but it seems the most likely...

So that's a valid reason for keeping on posting shiit even with an added aggressive tone, right? if you think this thread is not useful at all and you dont want to read stupid comments from some people you dislike, cause it is evident to all us they makes you angry, really feel free to avoid posting/skipping it. So if there were some of what you called here above "same nick whining ", dont you agree with me when I say it would be better to not feed the troll?
(PS: I am not saying I agree with your thoughts about those people here)

Sorry don't follow you... to make a tl;dr
My spat with marxian ended up with him spitting out he dislikes Silica - useful after all
My spat with Zogg - not really, he danced all around when jolla was supposed to be dead, now returned to: there are problems dude, what did you contribute (coming from a non-contributing person oh boy)
then pichlo woke up: no idea, guess he took it personally, nothing worth more than this thread

Too bad that after Copernicus' worthwhile opinion we bring this back up, but please go ahead and dig up 19 more worthwhile posts from this thread. I'ts a shiithread where mostly people whine, don't see how this is out of line

Hey, I love a good flame fest as much as the next guy. (Or, at least I did when I was younger; I don't get as much out of vitriolic tit-for-tat arguments today as I used to.) But yeah, I think it'd be nice to get back to some more meaty discussion. It seems the last pages of the Jolla Tablet novel have not yet been written, and I'm still hoping for a decent plot twist or two here at the end...

I was not referring strictly to you in my first post. I was saying just to stop discussing in that way. I am not taking the part of anyone here. I dont care about it, trust me. in the second post I said that your argument "the thread is unuseful since the start, so we can simply keep on posting poison/rubbish without problem" is not valid, at least for me. I was trying to report all you "altered" guys in a quiet (even if divergent in opinions) discussion. Please dont feel attacked by me, because is not my intention. Let's come back on track, if there is something new to say... I Have nothing to add so I can simply go to sleep.

This got me thinking... I don't know any business that doesn't lie (intentionally or not). And that is because all businesses are built on humans. To err is human.
