I'm coming up with more concrete stuff all the time, but it seems that you're not reading.

edit: btw. I never said 92.000 pcs were produced. In fact I doubt it, like I doubt everything Eldar is spitting.
edit2: and I never contradicted myself regarding the MeeGo Conference either. First I said that the developer device will probably be distributed at the conference. One day *before* the conference I said that Nokia informed me they changed plans because everything Harmattan related was "banned" from the MeeGo Conference.

It's the Nokia X-wing. They reserved the X-series trademark for these devices. You know what they say: in space, the rebels can hear you scream.

Well if Nokia wants my hard earned money the meego device will need a hw kb. Sorry but I'm one of the folks who have to have a hw kb in order to buy a phone. Honestly could careless how good the vkb is. Nothing for ME will ever replace a hw kb. And I have an G2 the damn thing is pretty slim so is the E7 so its possible to have a nice slim phone with a hw kb. That's just my opinion. Worst case maybe I can score the dev meego device or just ask Nokia for one. Ha!

There's just over 2 and a half weeks left till 21st of June, so we will find out then. H/W keyboard or not, I'll be buying it. Obviously I'd go for the one with h/w keyboard, but only time will tell.

However reading the article about Meego, Elop and Microsoft WP7, it seems clear that Meego is here to stay, Nokia ain't going to use Android. Soon enough they will have WP7 phones out and apparently people who have them love them - combine that with Nokia H/W and you have a winner (btw I never thought I'd be saying this about M$ stuff!).

They still want their own platform and Meego is exactly that - but it's far from ready! Version 1.2 is far from complete and thats why they decided to jump to WP7 to have devices out by 2011 and not 2014! Just like Elop said, it's a three pronged attack; one being Meego (Disruptive tech!) and one being WP7 and emerging markets devices.

Symbian is not dead yet, we may see it re-appear once the UI has been sorted out, it was better than anything out there when the N95 came out and it's not slick, but it is feature packed.

Bottom line is Meego is here to stay - but I don't think we will see them being a mass market device until at least Meego 1.3+ (2012 and later).

I will, and if there will be no option to get a "developer" device, Nokia basically screwed up expectations of N900 users.

I hope this weird dependance on Nokia's releases will eventually cease, and more manufacturers will release Meego handsets, be they with keyboard or not. Oh well. Dreams so far.

The same way they "screwed" releasing the N900 as a phone instead of a NIT, remember? And all you guys bought it, anyway. So this point is really debatable.

No hw keyboard sucks, but let's keep it real - Nokia is trying to recover from a breakdown, and it obviously means appealing to the masses, than appealing to the niches.

i dont have much to add in the way of the teaser or the documents that hasnt already been said or poured over. however i would like to respond.

your gonna need quim to verify to me that they were in fact different and not just differently distributed ... i have a feeling that they were pre-release HW, i would say next to no internal differences.

youve NOT come up with concrete evidence, just hearsay which is fine, its just not evidence. why again, are you accusing me of not reading ... ?

speaking of reading, i said "specifically eldar" regarding the 92000, however youre holding on to his idea that theres overstock that they Nokia needs to shed in order to pave the way for lankku

MeeGoCon Distro is another one of your many musings that turned out to be misinformed. it was merely an example illustrating how far away you are from the source, thats all.

it is apparent to me at least that you dont get information first hand, which means that your information is useless for this specific device thread. if you want to talk about what you know about lankku im sure the MR forums would welcome you, and im sure you could create another thread.

patience

personally, my bet is on meego 1.4 when Wayland is integrated, so summer 2012 for a mass-market device.
