To disable device from going to off-mode (deepest sleep), you can set
"enable_off_mode" to "0" (as root):
- To do this temporarily, do "echo 0 > /sys/power/enable_off_mode"
- To do this permanently, change the "enable_off_mode" setting in
/etc/pmconfig file to "0" and reboot the device.
As the battery will then last only few hours regardless of whether device is
used or not, it's not a workaround for this bug. It's just a test for
pinpointing which problem the people in this bug are having.
I would appreciate if you can test whether doing that will get rid of the
reboots. Because of the effect on use-times, its better to switch device off
when you're not going to use it for longer while, or attach the device to a
charger.
If disabling off mode gets rid of the reboots, next test would testing setting
off mode back to 1 and disabling just "voltage_off_while_idle" setting. That
wouldn't have as bad effect on the device use-times.
