i believe that you are here because you are using a good device with a great os, isnt it?

making a phone with a hwkb is something easy, if you want it, you can get a milestone or something similar...

i am here because i love this os (yeah, i know nearly nothing about linux but i love maemo!) regardless if it is in a device with or without the keyboard. and i hope that i will love harmatten and meego. i will buy the new device hwkb or not, because i want to support the os, if we dont support it the future is only android, ios and maybe wp7, and thats no good (imho).

P.S.
i have a new signature

I have an HTC G2. I still use my N900 love the thing to death the lack of support made me leave Nokia and was willing to give them a shot with the new Meego device granted it had what I require a hw kb. Dont worry brother I shall support Meego cause as soon asus drop the meego netbook I'M all over it. Just wanted a nice hw kb PHONE to match my netbook

P.S. Nice sig lol

Where does it state this is the consumer device!?

nokia: http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/...tion-at-nokia/

"But the possibilities are endless… and very exciting. We can’t wait to show you more – maybe a sneak peek at “Jessie’s Girl” – in the weeks to come."
Where does they say "Jessies Girl" video is the consumer device?

did you see Dr Pinballs latest tweet about the device elop flashed

"Apparently @selop flashed a #Nokia prototype at the #D9 attendees. Nothing to add now but there will be more details in the coming weeks...."
https://twitter.com/#!/DrPinball

same stance that Nokia conversations took on Jessie's Girl Video but obviously its different device.

Funny thing is Nokia was the first with real internet tablets. They were not able to define the tablet space and make it mainstream. Although the software was good enough ( I guess. Unless it was much worse than N900/ Maemo 5. I have no experience with any Maemo device prior to N900).
And right when they admitted their failure to make the tablet space big and pulled out of the tablet market by making the next tablet a phone sized device (N900), Apple launched their tablet and created a huge tablet market. And now everybody is following Apple's "lead".

Why didn't Nokia release a bigger 7" or 10 " tablet in the last 1.5 year?
Isn't Maemo 5 good enough for a tablet? It is certainly better than iOS. And you can run all of the thousands of linux applications out of the box. No need to adjust UI.
They could have had that market, or at least be the second biggest in that market which is also a lot if you see how few Android tablets have had succes in the past 18 months.

Elop:
10:39
Symbian became too bloated to work
10:39
Worked with Intel on MeeGo and assessed that it couldn't create a portfolio of devices fast enough to deal with competition
10:40
MeeGo could help in the high end but it couldn't go down fast enough to the mass market

i never differentiated b.w consumer and dev, so i dont know about a different device than the one i pointed to. so thats for you to find out through your 'insiders'. its a position that i havent taken, nor will i defend. ask zehjoktah.

need to let go of some preconceptions, dont hold me to your rumors, i dont believe them nor endorse them. so to ask me about identifying a product that isnt announced, against another product thats currently vaporware goes against what ive been trying to do here, which is ask that we be patient till the time comes. dont set expectations too high, or low for that matter. but be patient.

i find it difficult to communicate to you. but chances are if theres FCC documentation, and a RFC ... its usually an indication that Nokia wants to be the one to let everyone know. gather from that what you will.

im merely pointing to the tangible pieces of the puzzle, by no means a whole picture, interpret it for yourself. dont rely on hearsay.

This is simple logic and says nothing about Mac security, market share or virus availability, which I don't care to go into detail on since that's a fight without logic and facts.
That is not the ONLY reason but if you want to believe that keep believing it. Sure. That is obviously also the reason that there are no linux virussus. Most servers run linux on the internet.
