Maybe you can start differentiate?
Has been confirmed to be the Harmatan consumer device, from what I've read. Does not look it has a kb either.

zjk, I believe and I am grateful for all the information you bring to us, but I completely dismiss all the conclusions you jump to. That is the problem with leakers, when they abuse their position wanting us to believe their own theories. This is more or less what Eldar himself does...

Nokia has sold old hardware before, and will do it again. They have also sold defective hardware. They can fix those things if they want.

I can't see how you can support the idea Jessie's Girl will not be sold as a regular device without supporting the notion that they have a number (92k) of devices already built and are unable to produce more, or to fix any problems (e.g. "flimsy hinges", unglueing USB ports) they might have or update some of the specs.

Well, maybe there were kludgy N900 they made up for internal use during development and that ended up in external developer's hands eventually. I still can accept that as an argument to support that Nokia might not pick up this old hardware, develop a good software to it and sell for all those hwkb-hungry geeks around here.

And the whole "the teaser video will not be wasted because the device must be presented to the community". Was there any videos to present the frankensteinian version of the n900 to the community? Is it really easier to believe in that instead of believing this is a regular advertisement for a device that will be released as a regular product, with regular and outdated hardware?

Nope it was no C7 or Oro shape and size all wrong.
btw I don't think Nokia themselves would be calling it a Mystery device if it was something already revealed.
Elop so meant to do what he did before he even sat down. just to build rumours and excitement.

Does Nokia have official channels for submitting feedback? May be if enough users would voice their interest in Meego handset with hw keyboard, it'll affect their perceptions that no one wants it.

Internet Tablet OS2005 through OS2008 were...different. If someone placed an Internet Tablet in front of you, next to your N900, you'd likely not immediately recognize the older UI as Maemo.

By "different" I don't mean "bad", mind you, though I expect quite a few N900 owners would be uncomfortable using a device running ITOS. Maemo was less finger friendly and a bit more similar in looks to desktop Linux back then. That was a plus to many here, and the drastic changes Maemo 5 brought drove a good number of community members away.

Why didn't Nokia release a bigger 7" or 10 " tablet in the last 1.5 year?
People in this community have been calling on Nokia to produce larger format Internet Tablets since before Apple released the iPhone, not just since the iPad. Again and again, Nokia employees flatly declared that Maemo was designed for handheld, pocket-sized devices and they had no interest in changing that.
