if you pinned it
Code:
root
rm /etc/apt/preferences
this will remove your pinned hildon desktop (your other pinned apps too)
if you have another pinned apps, just
Code:
root
vi /etc/apt/preferences
press i and delete these lines
Code:
Package: hildon-desktop
Pin: release a=unstable
Pin-Priority: 1001
then press the ESC button and type :wq (this will save the changes you made)

then you can reinstall the original hildon desktop
Code:
root
apt-get update
apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop
kill-all hildon-desktop
this should work, in theory :P

Yup -- that's how I reinstalled it.

I used FileBox to delete /etc/apt/preferences though (since I hadn't pinned anything else)

good to hear your problems are gone

and i'm sorry, i hadn't seen your thread asking for help.

afaik, the hildon-desktop problem might be that you installed a 138 version (the one in the first post) on pr1.3, you shouldn't have problems with a 140 version like this one
