I'm afraid all the previous drama on jolla2 when will the update arrive/will it ever is relevant to this interview, still hoping some mistranslation but with their latest business plan/focus, seems unlikely:

Why do we need another jolla phone? Unless someone steps in a release a cool hw i dont see any reason for one. A five inch russian Phone would be cool.

Octa core, 4k screen, 64bit processor, 32GB ram...
Don't ask me, ask the OP

That would be Perfect, add a 6 inch screen And IT would sell...1000 Euro per device.

From several interviews released today, they are not going to invest heavily on HW market but only make some "spearhead devices" like Jolla Tablet. So, basically they may do something as "reference" but rely mostly to partners willing to develop and release devices running Sailfish OS. Considering the resources Jolla has available, it's a sensible choice. I'd prefer having another Jolla branded phone with upgraded specs though...

Because I personally would be glad and proud to have a Jolla branded Phone with a much better implementation of the TOH concept (and up to date hardware) and not just another Androidphone-fork running Sailfish OS.

True, this will allow them to concentrate their efforts on where their advantages really are, sad for jolla2 expectations, but good news for jolla (especially with the latest movements in regards to BRICS et all), who wanna bet who will be the mysterious manufacturer of "jolla2". Yotta2(or is it 3), some indian manufacturer?

With country based manufacturers the privacy concerns are coming up (as if having closed source qualcomm or other chip would guarantee safety, lol), jolla having their own HW every now and then would be a good thing (no shady SW image), not sure how trustworthy is country X HW with clean flash of jolla/mer (still drivers, ehh). then again, as was posted in other thread, better with russian backdoor when living in EU/US than with Samsung/US SW, russians would need to also penetrate EU/US network to deliver payload (and if it is just IP based drop, wireshark or simlar should be enough to prove-shame)

For English speakers, here's a translation - http://reviewjolla.blogspot.co.uk/20...ufacturer.html

That makes for grim reading - basically Jolla are making no money, have no money in the bank, and don't show any immediate prospects of turning things around.

I guess the positive is that a Jolla successor is around the corner, because right now it's a joke that the current flagship Jolla runs on 4 year old hardware.

That's the same link???
Anyways, while I agree it sounds brothers grimm, since jolla redefined themselves as SW company going for the cut, that really is a happy ending. They had no chance to compete with samsung&co on HW, having backing of US-not-totally-friendly countries to push it as alternative sounds much better than say... being bought by MS to replace WP (back to NSA, yay!)
