How about carbon fiber reinforced plastic, the same stuff that IBM and Lenovo use in T-series Thinkpad coatings? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon-...forced_polymer

the first article i have found about this diamond coating is from 01/07... is this time (3years) too short to get it into a real product?
as a former chemistry student i know that this coating is quite difficult to develop. it takes time to make it work perfect.

no, this thread is based on the information that we have. leaks/leads about the device that we've seen no more no less, everything else is for the other thread. which will spin out of control till Q4.

as for the comparison, i think mynokiablog.com reviewed the backs of the devices to be released and once recently released. the LED on the E7 is too low on the body. heck chances are its not even a nokia device. but, thats the most suspect of evidence that we have so far.

w.e was tested with the fcc has a keyboard, as far as dev/consumer i have no idea all i know is that this device will be seen in 3 weeks. unless an extension is granted ...

whatever they do release or announce i hope that the specs are fitting for a 2H'11 device at this point. more than a year since it was supposedly finished and ready (the hardware that is) lets hope that the insides went under the knife as well.

(my spec sheet shows both versions, but remember, as far as we know at the moment, the device will be the one elop is holding in his hands and thats to thin and to black for jessie (N950) )
If the dev device is thicker and has keyboard then the consumer device can still have the same cam. Remember only the thickness of the part that holds the camera counts.

It's true all the facts are there, although I am not sure we can accept as a fact that Jessie's Girl will be an elitist, taboo device given only to selected special people picked by Nokia's Sorting Hat! Plus the problem is on that threat is TMI!...

...Anyway, it does not matter if the device will be sold or not, or even if it will be ever announced! Might never see the light of day for all we know... But the whole reason for us to be excited right now is a link missing from the first post, the Conversations post acknowledging the existence of the Jessies's Girl video.

http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/...tion-at-nokia/

_That_ is cool. I don't care about the other one, I want to talk about this one. The other doesn't have pictures, videos or semi-official acknowledgement. Might turn out to be true, but Jessie's Girl is all I care about right now. I look in the mirror all the time thinking when will she come to my arms late late at night!

Here's my two cents so far:

1. CZ is Carl Zeiss. But the lenses used on Nokia phones and Sony cameras are NOT made by Carl Zeiss. It is a "fairly low quality" specification licensing of how good the lense glass and coating is.

2. Why do people want 12MP over 8MP? It's not the MP that you should worry about. It is more about the technology of the sensor, how new it is, its pixel density, its pixel size, image processing, noise reduction algorithm, compression etc. Unless you need that hairline more detail (if lucky) for when you need to crop a tiny portion of the photo and blow it up, 4MP difference makes no difference in the real world. Nada. N8's 12MP sensor is good due to it's relative size, not because of it high MP.

3. I for one want it to play minimun 720p videos even if it's only 4" and WVGA res. No idea why people don't care about this. Some people watch a lot of videos on their phone during train/bus commutes to work etc. I have a lot of 720p videos to watch on my TV at home and the last thing I wanna do is having to re-encode them for the phone or download a SD version as well. (which I do right now due to using N900) SGS2 can play virtually all codecs/formats up to 1080p. (even high profile MKV files) But I'm REALLY happy that K123 confirmed N9 can play at least up to 720p videos while multitasking. SGS2 won't do that as it's Android.

K123, have you tried various codec/file formats such as common h264 MKV's?
