It is still in quarantine. Maybe try to update and when it is fine, you can promote it. It is up to you.
I don't know how long DB will keep their html code. They can't close <div>. And my fix is ugly maybe I will write a more flexible fix.
I need to think about if it makes sense to put still time into this engine.

I'll try to promote it right away, it's just to estras-testing anyway, so no harm.
"more flexible" - consider my suggestion to use wildcard-regex which should compensate for a lot of mess DB might apply to their website

[edit] hmm, no, it's not even imported yet, have to wait a little bit longer. Dunno if some council member wants to give it a QA before promoting it to testing.
How about maintainership for http://maemo.org/profile/view/halftux/ ? I can do this too

Well, for one Fahrplan2 DB contains new back-ends, such as Vasttrafik in Sweden.

Yes I think it is clear that we benefit when we update the old package thus it is not necessary to create a new package.
Otherwise we would have an obsolete package which nobody will use anyway.

By the way when we talking about "DB" it doesn't mean database or data-back-end it means "Deutsche Bahn" (german train).

My first try to create a gui for fahrplan2 engine. Created with qt widgets because I have no clue about qml.
So I will attach a binary development preview from fahrplan2 engine (ver 2.0.26).

No translation, no calendar, no gps function. At the moment it creates a config in /home/user/.config/smurfy/fahrplan2.conf so it will not conflict with fahrplan and you can have both applications running.

When it is ready it will replace fahrplan package. But don't know when it reaches this state.

Supported providers:
  • Germany (bahn.de) - supports via station and GPS location.
  • Germany, Munich (mvv-muenchen.de)
  • Austria (oebb.at) - supports via station and GPS location.
  • Austria, Salzburg (svv-info.at)
  • Denmark (rejseplanen.dk) - supports via station and GPS location.
  • Switzerland (sbb.ch) - support via station, timetable with direction and GPS location.
  • Norway (reiseinfo.no / nri) - supports GPS location.
  • Netherlands / Belgium (9292ov.nl) - supports via station and GPS location.
  • Sweden (vasttrafik.se) - supports via station and GPS location.
  • Sweden (resrobot.se)
  • Ireland (transportforireland.ie) - supports via station.
  • Australia, Victoria (ptv.vic.gov.au) - supports via station.
  • Australia, Sydney (transportnsw.info) - supports via station.
  • USA, SF Bay (511.org) - supports via station.
  • Dubai (rta.ae) - supports via station.

After copy it to the device you need to make it executable.

Forgot to mention that current station and direction station is for the timetable function.
Search and timetable button is in upper menu.

Double click on an item in the search result list will show details.
With a "right click" on the search results you can get earlier or later search results.
