It should have fixed the issue. Just to make sure: did you shutdown and restart mycontacts after?

To make easier I am going to publish a new version in a few minutes that will include the "custom" backend. It should solve all the issues. If not, please let me know.

NEW RELEASE ON extras-devel - 0.9.16-1

On this:

use "custom" Qt Mobility backend by default
changed how the widget check the contact status - now it will only check the status for online accounts that you are connected to.

Hi Felipe,

Your last update solved my problem of turkish characters, thanks a lot.

And for the call block, i installed PyCallBlocker and it works fine. Maybe it is possible that you can merge with it? sorry if it sounds noob, i have no idea about programming.

one more thing, as I mentioned before, is there a way to make your program the default contacts handler?

PyCallBlocker by the name is a python program. MyContacts is a Qt program so the answer is unfortunately no. Also, I think PyCallBlocker uses a list of phone numbers and mycontacts will use a list of "contacts".

Again... no... But if you elaborate on where (and how) you would like mycontacts to be accessed I may think about workarounds. One feature that I am already working on is to access the "contacts" application from mycontacts for adding and editing contacts - with the latest release you should already be able to edit the contact information by clicking on its avatar on the contact dialog.

First thanks for the review.

Some comments on your Observations and Suggestions:

The contacts list is not sorted, and clicking on the keyboard just searches for the first character in a name, it should use a incremental search.

They are "mostly" sorted. There is an issue on qt mobility contacts sort with contacts that don't have first and last name, only nickname. The incremental search is on the works.

Group SMS option should be cool

Not the first one to request. Once I implement user groups that are not necessary connected to the widget will make more sense to have this option.

There is no kinetic scrolling for contacts while searching.

Not sure what you mean - you do have kinetic scrolling on the application.

More contacts can be allowed by enabling scrolling in the widget.

The widget does not allow to scroll because widgets don't have access to the "finger wiping" events - they are exclusively used for you to switch between desktops.
