not sure if it is a big problem, but for a while after unplugging the charger the time left read 0 minutes. when i went into setting and checked the "display idle" option it changed to "active 7 hours".

Was it dead or near dead when you put it on the charger or did it change to zero when you disconnected charger?

dead when put on charger.

noticed it again now. it was still showing 7 hours after idling for a night and showing some 50% battery. reloading asui got it down to 4 hours.

@auouymous
I have added under /sys/power:
  • op_list_info: shows the CPU/DSP frequencies for all possible op states, so you don't have to use static values.
  • op_dsp_range: interval of op values that op_dsp admits
  • op_locked: 0 if op_dsp can be written to, 1 if it is locked.
I also have updated the DT packages, so you can count on those being present in any DT installation.
Don't assume that there will be just 4 op values. I want to try to add more op values (overclocking, underclocking) and if successful that number may change.

New test binary.
  • governor name is replaced with DSP frequency when active and using a Diablo-Turbo kernel with op_locked support
  • usb widget
  • fix: openssh widget should no longer count certain clients twice
  • revert: idle and active times are no longer queried on each BME signal

The USB widget toggles between host and OTG with a long press. Seems to work but I don't use USB... Will add more features to it in future test releases.

@ mcow, can you test the number of openssh clients and let me know if it works now.

@ tso, oops! I'm not sure what made me remove all those active/idle updates.

@ maacruz, ASUI doesn't yet support the other two but it will read op_locked and display the DSP frequency.

New test binaries for ASUI and asui-settings.
  • usb widget now refreshes on signals and displays connection status
  • key auto repeat status and toggle button on secondary widget page
  • screen autolock status and toggle button on secondary widget page
  • screen stays lit on charger status and toggle button on secondary widget page
  • split button code into separate files and modularized for upcoming button placement editor
  • brightness and volume keys now only work when the sliders are on the current widget page
  • configurable lock, lock&blank, blank and secure buttons (button modes section)
  • configurable action when securing device
  • configurable power button action when device is secured

Run ASUI before launching asui-settings to initialize the new settings.

The "button modes" section has a bunch of new settings to configure the two lock buttons and dpad center. Grayed out buttons in ASUI are disabled because you didn't check "secure button" or the button doesn't work with your charger/autolock settings.

The two screen related toggles on the secondary widget page can be used to quickly change there corresponding display settings. A future release will allow the blank and lock&blank buttons to temporarily override these settings.

I don't know if ASUI is causing it or another program but my key repeat turns off after a few days. The third new button on the secondary widget page lets you turn it back on, or off if you want.

So it is not only me that is noticing the key repeat thingy.

edit: btw, lock & blank seems to do nothing on my N800. Ah, its related to autolock. Oddly it have worked before with autolock off. Oh, never mind. i see now. damn it, always something in the fine print...

The lock&blank used to lock or blank but now it doesn't do anything if it is grayed out. You can swap those buttons around to put the two most used ones on the bottom (short press) and either unbind the others or leave them on top (long press).

Some requests:
Can you make the Display and Sound applets launch their equivalent Control Panel applets somehow? The command "dbus-send --print-reply --dest=com.nokia.controlpanel /com/nokia/controlpanel/rpc com.nokia.controlpanel.run_applet string:libcpdisplay.so boolean:true" will bring up the Control Panel with the Display applet open; "dbus-send --print-reply --dest=com.nokia.controlpanel /com/nokia/controlpanel/rpc com.nokia.controlpanel.run_applet string:libcpsound.so boolean:true" will do the same but with the Sound applet.

Can a tap-and-hold function be added to the label that says headphones/speakers to make it switch between the two? The commands found in this post will do the trick. However, and I must admit, multimediad offers no real way to get the state. The state is stored in /apps/maemo/fmradio/speaker by the FM radio applet, but I don't think anything else uses it...

So you want to have headphones plugged in for the radio antenna but listen on the speakers?
