Im getting the same problems as you, except for my has not restarted on me so far, but i did notice one thing that i was happy with. I could use the [Mass Storage Mode] Which was very helpful to sort out a problem with Duplicate Folders in File Manager.

My advice to you is, Go back to Kernel v27 which Gusse has provided you with just bellow, and in your [App Manager Settings] Disable the "Maemo Extras-Devel" or "Maemo Extras" (<--Not Sure) Catalogue(s) so that you will not be notified of any updates until you are ready to search for software/updates again.

I think the problems you were trying to describe were:
Internal Application Error (Contacts, Photo/Image)

Also just curious, have you set a Phone lock, so it requires you to type in a code to unlock your phone after sleep mode?

↓↓↓ Here's the Version of the Kernel you had before the update. ↓↓↓

and install them with dpkg -i file (with root rights) in the same order.

Thanks goes to Titan!

I reverted back to 27 with the previously posted debs, but I am having trouble adding QBW widgets back after they disappeared. When I click on Desktop to add a widget, the dropdown menu doesn't show for me and icons on the desktop previously added won't launch. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

anyone get this message?
"a unexpected reboot occured. your custom kernel setting were not loaded"

i only update v28 and setting 11 and modify the /etc/default/kernel-power
then i reboot.

I had this problem earlier and had to uninstall QBW and reinstall again. This has not with the oc-kernel to do. I can happen when QBW breaks. In my case i wrote a command that froze QBW and had to force shut down.

I did it with "dpkg -P" command in terminal.

I tried out maemo28 again to be able to make some bug reports. I add my output from dmesg as an attachement.

I've had very few problems thusfar, however one odd one was that the screen became extremely dim with keyboard cover open, even though the keyboard remained lit up. Thankfully I've got simple brightness app installed and could just about make out enough to click the next bar up, then down again. Hasn't reoccured so far.
