I still can't get it to work.

Don't know what the problem is...

I even removed everything (also pidgin and everything related) and at first it seemed to work but now i can't even setup the account anymore.

Hmm been runnin haze msn on 2g and I am seeing battery go down and phone feels warm. doubt I could get through a full day like this.

After running for a while I've noticed those dreded spam messages on msn popping up. In Pidgin there is a privacy setting to only receive messages from people on your contact list, is there any setting for this in Haze, Conversations etc?

I've been running MSN Haze for a while now and I love it but yes I do get random messages from people not on my contact list and it's been annoying from time to time. Would be nice to have a setting to only receive messages from those on your list.

What also would be nice is if we could get other statuses besides the two which are online or offline. Would be nice to have others such as busy, away, and other status buttons. Any idea if and when this stuff will be available for Haze Plug-in?

Hmm my haze seems to have issues at times reconnecting after I hang up on a phone call (2g) Wish there were more tweakable setting such as # of reconnection attempts and time between retries...

Yeah the receive msgs only from contacts is needed for sure.

Thx @ ShadoW2

@max-f12

Open xterm and type following

1.sudo gainroot
2.apt-get install purple-extra-protocols=2.6.3-6nix0
3.apt-get install libpurple0=2.6.3-6nix0

thats all..

After each apt-get command you have to confirm with "Y"

This may not be the reason why but I think it's because it has to do with the closed nature of AIM, MSN, and YIM (yahoo). When I was jumping from IM client to IM client (the official ones were annoying and I hated running 3 different ones and was looking for one main unified one) it seems most of the IM clients out there if not all for these protocals have to reverse-engineer the protocal to get it to work.

Likely Nokia probably saw that there was no official method offered by AOL, Microsoft, or Yahoo for these protocals and decided that rather then get into that mess of trying to figure it out and keep it working (occasionally AOL, MSFT, or Yahoo will change something that temporaily breaks the protocal if your not using the official one) that they wouldn't bother including it.

Of course this is assuming that those companies don't want to allow other clients (they do get ad revenue from them which is the primary reason why they probably wouldn't want you to).

Edit: As for why Skype and Google Talk are included.

Skype was paid by Nokia. And Google Talk is an open protocal.

Over all i like the n900 'i took it to brasil last week and i could not use the 3G because they are running on another 3g so i was without 3g connection.Which sucks because i could not receive my email or i could not use any IM to chat or use skpye to call back to the USA.
