I was out and about all day with my N900 in hand. Got good battery life (I'm guessing, it seems like an accurate read, as opposed to the iPhone's jump suddenly to half, then to red, then die). Headphones are pretty decent for in the box phones. Had a few apps go unresponsive, no random reboots though. I did have the desktop lock up early in the day, had to reboot.

Any idea what caused the lockup?

Nah I didn't catch any specific action. I was doing something (don't remember) while listening to music, switched to the desktop with the music widget. Went to skip the track and boom, locked up.

Dunno, I've had the device since September, I've used 4 firmwares on it and had exactly one unintentional reboot.

I agree with NOKIAFAN, been using it to the point that I killed the battery twice. No reboot issue on mine.

According to that Brightpoint link or w/e it was, their shipment from Nokia was suppose to arrive today, nearly all their shipment from what I read on the ETA's.

I have to say the line

"many (but not all) related to the idiotic lack of portrait mode"

does not suggest an impartial view.
I suggest that the prototypes were of a tighter controlled production batch and that the mass production units may be different enough to have different issues not in the prototypes.

As far as portrait mode, the tsunami of posts and complaints by consumers and media who think the N900 is a smartphone who review the N900 will be:

1. Where is the portrait mode?
2. I can not text with one hand?
3. I can not use the phone function with one hand?
4. Where the heck is the MMS?
5. No direct call function?
6. For a smartphone, this is not very smart!

Too many people assuming what the product is not. Nokia did not do a very good job of articulating what the N900 is and should have NEVER put the word "smartphone" in any of their announcements. Even if the line was, "The N900 is not a smartphone", the word should not have been mentioned.
