Maybe Newegg didn't place much faith into the selling ability of the n900 so they limited their liability but not buying as many units?

Because Shop-blt is mostly a wholesaler/distributor that sells to smaller stores, but also sells to end users if they really want to, and therefore has a lot of units?

Who knows. Neweggs units might even be coming from shopblt.

Greetings from Amazon.co.uk.

Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

"Nokia N900 Sim Free Mobile Computer with Maemo 5 Software"
Estimated arrival date: December 01 2009 - December 04 2009

I got this from my Amazon pre-order on the 1st of November. You can add this date to your table. Interesting I cancelled my order on the 1st and placed with MPD as they were quoting Nov 16th and appeared to have "Exclusive" access to stock.....

Not sure why I bothered as Amazon seem to be quoting an accurate time and I have placed many orders with them. This is probably my first and last with MPD. Needless to say if Amazon show availability before MPD I will go back to them.

22nd is the date I was told by Buy.com rep as well. I called couple of times since I placed my pre-order with them sometime back in Oct and they seem to be pretty consistent with the date. Do note 22nd is just the release date given by their supplier, and when they say release date.

I called again just now and Brandon told me it is now postponed by Nokia until notified. he told me he's positively sure they already have the stock in their warehouse, just waiting for Nokia right now. I would say Nokia is pushing back release date for other retailers until Nokia store ships out their pre-orders

But as long as resellers did not get any reliable information when they will have the devices I am sceptical. I think Nokia is still looking for ways to reflash all the already shipped devices with newer firmware because they found a severe bug. I can't find another explanation for these mysterios behavior of Nokia.
Now there is some FUD!

Has NokiaUSA called ANYONE else to cancel their order?
Nope, I contacted them today and placed some rage. They are dealing with a shitstorm of angry customers. I have a "call back" coming Monday apparently but I have very little to no faith on that. More than likely my N900 has been perma pushed back as they are filling orders and not reserving units for their screw up.

I just tried to cancel my order from nokiausa and they wont let me do it because they said it has already been "released" and I could only reject the package. isnt this BS because I havent been charged yet and nothing shipped yet. and whoever I talked to was a real *****.

They are holding tighly onto the few orders they havenīt screwed up. Thereby angering those customers that wish to cancel and screwing up some more.

Yes it is complete BS.
