Did you install the right repositories?

Anyway I had problem installing nsp2 because it needs libg2c0 which seems to be deprecated when you try as root the following command

libg2c0 can be found at maemo chinook extras, you need add this repository before try to install nsp2-cvs
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ chinook free non-free
Guys, for now NSP2 is the more fast and complete math software I have for Maemo, lets try it!

I compiled the new version of nsp2, it is very fast... I can rotate a 3D graph, on real time... :P

Also get gcc with gnuplot. This allows you to test out embedded algorithms and stuff like that. Also can do math that is unique and may not exist between R, wxMaxima and octave.

GNU bc (basic calculator) would be also a nice have.
