Not sure about power kernel and looks like it's too late for this...

Did you try the earlier suggestion of plugging in via USB and running the chkdsk option that pops up for USB drives (for all partitions and SD card).

Had same problem (operation failed) and this fixed it.

Just a note: I just ran into this problem - the crashing camera and saw the suggestion about reinstalling fcam-drivers. After verifying that the most recent version of fcam-drivers comes with modules for the stock *and* the power kernel I "apt-get update+install" and - heho - works perfectly - thank you!!

If you're already in the dreadful reboot loop: Try to temporarily disable the lifeguard-reset (it causes the reboots - s. http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=857928&postcount=7) and maybe uninstall fcam+drivers.

For me it said that I did not have fcamera installed when I tried the fiorst method so I installed fcam-drivers which updated version then installed fcamera and all was good.

same here...
i have problem with my camera. when i open lens cover and choose camera, it said "operation failed".
When i try use my flashlight, it said " camera in use by another aplication".
can anyone help me please....
