I have mplayer installed, and kmplayer too, and want to stream TV form my PC. The stream url in VLC (where it works well) looks like rtsp://XX.XX.XX.XX:XXXX/xxxxxxx.sdp The video codec is set to h264.
I see that the N900 connects to my PC, but the N900 screen stays black. P Do i need to change the video codec ?

Just tried it with couple of files that were not working on default player. They work like a charm on Mplayer . The only issue I see is that there are no buttons in full screen...so you have to double tap in order to minimize the screen and then pause the video.

BTW, there must be "some" acceleration already taking place, since some of the vids that choke on the default player or drop a lot of frames are smooth as butter on Mplayer.

Probably something silly I am missing on KMplayer?.....?
Yep, silly indeed- Double tap the video
BTW, there must be "some" acceleration already taking place, since some of the vids that choke on the default player or drop a lot of frames are smooth as butter on Mplayer. I can not see even the workhorse 3430 pulling this off without acceleration. These are higher bit rate avi and divx files.
One strange issue as far as using KMplayer or BiS as the GUI:
Some videos that play fine through BiS do not play using KMplayer as the GUI. I would have thought the GUI would make no difference on what plays. I checked and KM is set to Mplayer. Strange.
