Rubbish!

The phone becomes slow when you install things on it that use its resources. Whether that is from Nokia or Microsoft or Ovi or SomeGarageShop.

Look at Conky and see what is using the resources. Now, if the memory is used or not, it takes just as long time. So if you have 3MB or 30GB of music and video, as long as you do not view it all, it consumes just the same resources. However, a 2GB SD memory will consume less energy and increase battery life, compared to a 32GB SD memory. There is an SD memory installed on the N900 to provide your "MyDocs" storage. If you use this or not is all up to you, and Maemo or the CPU could not care less. Increase the CPU frequency, and use more battery and get things done faster.

Do not post if you are ignorant of the matter.

Please: Do not post nonsense.

The N900 cannot discriminate between bits that originates from Nokia. It is utter nonsense.
All media involves decoding a stream and use a lot of resources. Well, Mp3 is more encoded than Wav and you can assume that playing Mp3 takes more CPU than Wav. However, since Wav files are so much bigger, I would expect that Wav consumes more energy.

Do not install anything on the N900. Just flash it and smile and let it run on 600MHz. Again, if you are a Microsoft Certified ****: You dont know a thing!

Well Leon, you just exhibit ignorance, so why anyone thanks you can be justified by the words "That it is the most stupid farmers that grow the largest potatoes".

Nokia, or Qt application share libraries, and this will reduce the amount of memory you access, thus reducing the amount of swapping. But of course, others code using Qt, and use the same libraries.
Leon: This is NOT Microsoft VBA. The code is compiled and linked to libraries that makes Linux much faster than VBA and C* from Microsoft. The libraries are shared, and since they are in use most of the time, they are also in the memory - making the device even faster. Other applications are made in Python and Perl and even shell scripts that are not compiled but a lot of effort has been exercised to make thiese also blistering fast. You have a working set of less than 1MB - typically, nothing compared to the GB that MS VBA needs.
Many codecs are therefore coded in Perl and even Python, that is flexible. These codecs are also used by Nokia and are developed on by programmers who are willing to share the code with others, and distributed under GNU licensing.

Make your own code, and run it on the N900. It will execute just as fast as anything and everything else, Nokia has no preference.

However, decades of Microsoft certified engineers have created engineers that believe they know this, and have worked for decades providing silly and adverse consulting with wrong answers. Free us from the ****s!

Uh... Maybe you should check the dates on things you're replying to? This thread went idle 16 months ago (7 months before you created an account here). You're arguing with ghosts. Most of the people in this thread haven't even logged into the forum in over a year...
