The phone is useless.

Well, that post sums it up very nicely indeed. Case Closed. >> Find your salvation here.

P.S.: The fact that you went through the trouble of registering here just to vent your anger, but you could not bother to even read the other posts in this forum which would have helped you with your problems, will not win you any sympathy.

The thing with the n900 is that no matter how experienced you are their is always something new to learn about this device.

Long live the n900.

I only got this phone to have linux in my pocket. and by that I don't mean maemo I mean easy debian (yea I know it is running on or in maemo).

so for me as long as that works and I can make a phone call, I am basically happy.

Fact is the n900 is a rubbish smartphone.
It also happens to be a lousy pocket computer (powered as it is by mobile arm architecture).

But it is possibly the only device that can decently claim to be both.

Hmm, seems like YOU can't learn anything new ... I think YOUR rootfs partition might be full sir.

No, I meant what I said. The phone features are there as an added bonus. It really is more of a computer than a phone. Just because it's ARM based doesn't make it less of a computer.

With the hope that there will be USB Host mode and being able to use a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, gamepad... Connect it to a TV, and blam, you have a Linux workstation.

As for me, the more problems/bugs that I tend to solve with my n900 the more I am loving it... You know, like the "getting to know" phase... and the moment you know a lot about everything bad and lousy about the Nokia N900 the more you'll learn to love it...

and I do love it because of that...
