after firmware v44 n900 does not boot
reflash n900 to the kernel-power v45
problem persists

poweron...
Die ID # NUM
then...
Starting kernel
then...
device restarts

I do not want to reflash the rootfs
because I spent several weeks to tweak the device for convenience

perhaps it is because kernel modules left from v44?
what should I do?

@babysugar: What do you mean? Didn't you say that you got the maemo kernel booting just fine again?
Then it should be no problem to reflash it with any of those methods out there.

steps for flashing

1) get firmware .deb package from repo
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d.../kernel-power/

2) unpack .deb (by tar or midnight_commander)
get file from archive /CONTENTS/boot/zImage-2.6.28-maemo##.fiasco

3) reflash device with this image
to do this you need preinstalled flasher-3.5 :
flasher-3.5 -f --flash-only=kernel -R -F zImage-2.6.28-maemo##.fiasco
press 'U' key and plug USB to device

thats all

Not sure I understood.
I'm stuck on "starting kernel", I don't know why I get this error, I thing is due to the kernel for power user. But I thing that reflash resolving problem no?
EDIT:
@me.ascii: I can't do this because I havn't the symbol = on my keyboard, so i can't type it, or shouId I not understood ?
