that card is exFAT, thus you need to format it to any of FAT32, ext2 or ext3 to see it
try testdisk
i got one too but mine was faulty & i was only able to make one mmcblk1(!) fat32 filesystem of it on my N8 (which was then visible on the N900)
shipped back, awaiting new one

I was under the impression all 64GB cards come as exFAT.
I found it easiest to use GParted on a desktop to format and setup swaps etc.

Remember to have the FAT32 partition first, otherwise it will show as "corrupt" in the Setting menu.

tried pretty much everything but if memory serves well, gparted was one of the 1st ones (i'm on openSUSE )

& vfat was the 1st partition for the sake of Fremantle mounting it automatically
didn't matter, eventually only the N8 recognized there was something in the USB mSD reader & offered to format it
was visible everywhere (N900, se7en, openSUSE) alright but as i said, didn't get a 64GB card to have some sort of a raw fs in mmcblk1

a few writing performance figures for SanDisk 64GB SDXC...
  • a 100MB tar.gz file: 7.1 MB/s
  • a 265MB tar file: 5.5 MB/s
  • 114 AAC files from 21KB to 92MB: 5.5 MB/s
  • 13 MP4 files from 2.3 to 26 MB: 6 MB/s
on a USB3 reader (on a PC) the card tops out at 8.7 MB/s

Just received a SanDisk 64GB microSDXC. Popped it into my n900, went to file manager, held down memory card, select format, select yes, wait 10secs..... bam, 64gb of storage space goodness.

So yes, it will fit and work as stated above.

I just received a SanDisk 64 GB microSDXC from NewEgg, put it in my N900, & it does not show up in File Manager or File Box. Nor does it appear at all in Settings->Memory.

The 64 GB card shows up in a card reader on a Windows 8 machine. My 32 GB Adata card is OK in the N900.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

No, so I need to get a card reader for my Ubuntu box & format the card in it?

If so, what is the procedure?

BRB, off to get USB card reader.
