I9305 is not available in my Country. if its available its price is higher than the I9300. I Agree with you that 2gb makes sense today. i will search for a I9305.

Don't go looking for it if its not that available.
Try for the S4.... its smaller, has a bigger screen, looks more stylish and feels a bit better in the hand. They'll get cheap really soon as the SGS5 comes out.

I only recommend the S4 over the Nexus 5 for its microSD and removable battery.

If possible, get the Nexus 5... its cheaper, more premium and has the best software possibilities. Perhaps you might even boot native ubuntu/linux on it? But chroot is always there.

But if only the best will do, then there isn't anything that trumps the NOTE 3. Well, maybe the iPhone 6/Nexus 6

That would be the latest and greatest but I've no indications pointing in that direction.

I have now memorized the image. Not really sure what that image gives to this thread but on the other hand. Same thing can be said. About some of my post so will not complain.

I think it was him trying to show you that a traditional Linux build has Applications that are about 1 or 1.5 layers away from the kernel. Compared to Android build which has closer to 3 layers. More layers means more complexity, more processing, more time wasted, more cpu cycles wasted, etc etc.

So maybe a proper Linux build running on an outdated hardware like a 1.5GHz Dual Krait... will run faster than a 2.5GHz Quad Krait on Android build.

One is simply more efficient than the other.

I may get a Sony Xperia Z Ultra. 6.44" full HD screen; Snapdragon 800; MicroSD slot. The only feature missing is a removable battery (3050mAh though).

I'm writing on exactly that right now. Not that anyone cares...but still...white one is by far the best.

It's very nice bang for the buck right now. But if it's the latest and greatest...doubtful.

Non removable battery. Agree. Cam is pretty weak too and no light.

Hi. Not trying to start anything but just trying to understand.
In my simple way of looking at things I always assumed that because Android pretty much uses Java (plus other stuff of course) it has to use a virtual machine (Dalvik) and it is this extra layer which in general makes Android more inefficient than your typical Linux distribution. I guess odexing helps improve Android performance but hard to believe it can do better...

EDIT: I also suggest Dave999 study the following...
