hello all, i was considering if install the nitdroid of this thread, following the steps, in order to get umay version installed for using whatsapp, i will ask some questions before starting to install it:
Is this tutorial for emmc?
Is this tutorial "easy" for people like me who dont know much about linux?
Will i be able to install whatsapp after installing nitdroid of this post?
Is there any thing missing in this tutorial that people of this thread fixed in posts but wasnt updated the first post?
Am i in risk if i do this tutorial of being forced to hard reset my mobile?

Get the files N12_UMay.tar.bz and one of the nitdroid-kernel packages from http://www.mediafire.com/?rl29obk0erask and the nitdroid-installer from this post http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=3799 Do not forget to thank those forum-members!
Put those file into /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid folder, create it, if necessary.
Code:
mkdir /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/
cd home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid
Install the nitdroid-installer package
Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i nitdroid-installer*.deb
Follow the steps from this post:

i did this:
Clean Installing of NITDroid

1. Download the NITDroid Autoinstaller to ./MyDocs i.e. root directory of N900 and install it:

2. Run the NITDroid installer app from your programs list.

but nothing happens when i reset the phone, still is maemo, so i will unistall it and follow your tutorial, do i have to download all those files? or just the first?

I did not ask you to start the nitdroid-installer!!!
Instead execute the code from this forum post http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=4011
The nitdroid-installer does not provide the best results right now, but for this procedure some of the files are essential.

i know u didnt ask me for that, but i did it before reading your post xD

I downloaded the files:

N12_UMay.tar.bz2

nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_7-rc7_armel.deb

NITDroid-Installer_0.2.8-9beta3.deb


So i have to do this:
1. Put those files in the .nitdroid carpet of mydocs
2. copy paste the code of here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=4011

Nothing more, right? or i have to download the other files of the link that you gave me?

You need no more files than these!
You need to go to the.nitdroid directory to use the code!
You need to install the nitdroid-installer to get some files to the right places, but do not run it!

And finally use the code from the said post!
