One thing that's a "feature" from early on is that fMMS doesn't care if the check box for the proxy site is checked or not, and uses it anyway. I've been using that with one setting now with the fields filled in and the box unchecked. The network portion connects without the proxy, fMMS sees the setting and uses the proxy when it connects... very simple.

Are you connected to the right AP? Since I haven't messed with the sending code, it *SHOULD* work
Do you receive any "SMS Push" notification? If not, the problem might be that your operator does not have your phone marked as "MMS Enabled". On the other hand, there are some bugs in receiving the "SMS Push" which I'm working on fixing, which might also be the problem.
IMO, wait for a new release, if it still doesn't work, ask your service provider if they are sending your phone the MMS messages or not
It would be possible yes, but making sure each contact does not have a phone number would be a bit expensive in processing power (at least in the way it's currently handled) - I think adding a searchbar would suffice, even though contacts without a number would show up?

So..... I installed version 0.2.3 and was able to receive and send MMS messages on T-Mobile USA. Sent messages were received at the "optimal" (nicely viewable) size, but received MMS's came in as thumbnails.
I installed 0.2.7 today. I was really hoping to see in your User Agent profile would do the trick, but from experience with the N97 having the same issues with T-mobile, spoofing the UAProf may be the only way to get a decent MMS Pic. The Iphone MMS Hacks used a spoofed UAProf to get around this issue. Of course that's not what you want ideally, but until T-Mobile USA gets off their hind parts and fix the MMS gateway to actually respond properly to the newly available phones. if you need any info from me let me know. I have been complaining about T-Moblie MMS crap since my N97.
P.S. I sent this message from my phone to my phone. The original size before fMMS resize was, 288 * 352 @ 90.6 quality, the received size was 98 * 119 @ 84.0 quality
