This is how it has to look like.
I think you had a previous version of theme before (yes, "the home button (which can select theme, applet)" was on the right side) and somehow you managed to update it. Now is a tiny button on the left side.

I have located the /usr/share/applications/hildon-navigator/applications-menu.desktop file. but there is no /usr/share/applications/statusbar directory to which you referenced.
