No updates since 19-Jan-11.
That assumes that the repository we all see there is the same, and that we're not just looking at the most local copy of a distributed system (in which case a failure could have caused some copies not to update).

Are you able to move all the posts from the "[Council]" thread here except for the first post?
Yes, and that's an excellent suggestion. 155 posts from "[Council] Maemo 5 gets community OS updates" have been merged into this thread. That thread has now been closed. Please continue discussion in this thread.

Because, perhaps:
  1. It's a spare time activity, and they've actually been triaging the bugs (including dealing with the duplicates) and working on fixes
  2. Wading through this thread has become depressing with the number of people who aren't checking reported bugs the FAQ or even the thread itself.

This is my personal opinion having caught up on the thread after a few days travelling. Thanks to all of those who have been dealing helpfully with the incessant questions. I don't mind people asking questions, but I object to time being wasted answering the same ones again and again when they're clearly answered in at least four places.

Now the same questions are being asked on maemo-users. FFS.

See the FAQ, the Problems tab in Application Manager can be of great help.

Please state version numbers if you are seeing this weird behaviour. As far as I know, there has not been a new release of mp-fremantle-community-pr.

I would expect when we do there'll be a post in this thread.

Do you have another version of modest pinned? Check /etc/apt/preferences.

Apologies but you have been so good at answering queries earlier in the week I just wondering why it had all gone quiet, I wasn't demanding an answer!

I agree the continued queries regarding the shortcut & web browser bookmark etc are a problem but now this thread as grown to over 400 pages it will be difficult to find the answer if people even started looking them. I wonder if these two problems could be highlighted on the first page of this thread, with the solution for the first one, so that posters like me can just refer the poster to the first page when we see these questions rasied yet again, therefore allowing you guys deal with any new queries?

As far as my query with the updates it is odd that what appear to be usually relaible posters are suggesting that they have had updates when it appears there have been none so far.

Agreed but there is no sign of an update yet, I assume the Developers maybe testing it themshelves before rolling out, and we already know from the problems so far people are not using search, I am not really sure how easy it would be to find these two issues by using the search facility in any event.
