It appears that something changed that prevents Katana from seeing the books that rapier installed. Did you change any settings in rapier?

Another option would be simply using Katana to download the texts again. Then everything should work fine.

Thanks joshn53. I actually did not change any settings.
I will have to download again if the issue does not resolve. Though would be a shame to download the same versions twice. I can see that I have a sword folder in /home/user/

What about the way katana just shuts down when I decline to download any translations? Is that normal?

If the folder is simply named "sword", that's likely the problem. Katana looks for a folder called ".sword".

Just out of curiosity, why would it be a shame to download them again? They're only a couple MB, so it's not like it would take a long time.

Yes, that is normal. As I mentioned earlier, since Katana can't find any texts, it prompts on startup to install new ones. Since you cancelled, there's not installed texts, so Katana can't display anything.

Alright.
It is just that it (super efficiently) found the already downloaded sword files previously but suddenly couldn't. No reason why I can't duplicate to another folder as not large.

Rapier has the option to set sword folder location I think. Are you able to let me know where Katana would store the sword folder and I can set the Rapier location to that instead.

Some sort of error message would be great instead of just shutting down would be great if one has time later on.

Thanks for the replies.

I raised this question before about why there is no NKJV (or NIV) on Rapier (and presumably Katana) and I was told that it was because it is licensed so you would have to pay for it. But my wife has NKJV on her blackberry and she did not pay for it. So what gives? Why can blackberry users get it free and Maemo users cannot?

I don't know why your wife has those versions free on her blackberry but it is true that the NIV and NKJV are licensed, so are under copyright. I think Zondervan own the NIV rights and Nelson the NKJV.

I guess the NET bible would better suit the Maemo spirit than the NKJV :-)

If there's an Indonesian language package (there are a ton of languages in that region, you got a dialect someone can focus on), then this shouldn't be a problem.

I answered your question earlier in this thread, nevertheless, here's what I stated then: http://archived.mobileministrymagazi...ile-bible.html
