But I found some problem: when I leave LXDE session with Ctrl-bakspace and run "Fix LXDE keyboard" and return back, session leaves itself after few seconds, I can print maximum only around 10 letter before. I wonder if it happens only with me
If it is important - im using Easy Debian on 5Gb ext2 partition on SD, not image file.
As qole mentioned, try pressing the power button in LXDE and then tap outside it to focus the keyboard (fastest way) and check if you still face that problem.

Hey thanks, I had forgotten about that one! I should incorporate that into the next image.

Talking about a new image, I finally have figured out how to get sound working for the N900. See this post for more information.

I would still like to figure out why java doesn't work in the Fremantle chroot browsers, and hopefully fix it before releasing a new image.

How I can install icewm on this LXDE? I tried to access a configuration script from command line (LXTerminal) but it says "Permission denied"... I even tried from X Terminal with root access but it's the same... Can anyone help

OpenBox, the default window manager of LXDE, can be easily replaced by any one you like, such as fvwm, icewm, dwm and awesome... etc..

The window manager LXDE will attempt to use is defined this file:

/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/config

Per default this is defined as

[Session]
window_manager=openbox-lxde

Replace openbox-lxde with the window manager of your choice.

It might be also worth looking at:

/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/default

These default settings however appear to be deprecated, as there is this note in the file:

! This file is kept for backward compatibility.
! Only used by obsolete lxsession, not lxsession-lite.

Anyhow, for example, somebody's /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/default looks like this:

smproxy
openbox
lxpanel

smproxy is a program provided in xorg. It provides session management support for programs which don't know X11 R6 session management protocol. It is highly recommended you include this line in your desktop.

megaexer: use the red-swirl icon ("Debian chroot") in Maemo to get a root terminal. Using this, I was able to edit the /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/config file with no problems.

I'm not sure what advantages IceWM has over Openbox... Why do you want to switch?

It's weird but from chroot i still get "permission denied", it's incompatible? I downloaded icewm 1.3.6

icewm has nice themes at box-look.org, that's why I'd try it.

edit. I got it to work, downloaded it from Synaptic package manager

I'm on fire this week!

Got Java working in the browser again!

It seems to be tied to the "classpath" package. Still not sure what I did, though...

OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 has been released. Wonder when will it be available on Debain (and Easy Debian).

Well I notice that they've completely pulled openoffice.org 3.1 from the squeeze and sid armel repositories, probably because of the bug we discovered.

They have 3.2 RC1 in the armel experimental repo. All the other architectures get RC5; I wonder why?
