I just want to remind people about how much was missing from Maemo 5 when it shipped and thanks to the community they added so much of that missing functionality.
Harmattan will already be complete for consumers unlike Maemo 5 so now devs get opportunity to innovate this time instead of plugging Nokia's holes.
So I predict exciting times ahead for us from our developer community friends.

I honestly understand and respect that you maybe are more interested in another NIT instead of a high-end phone, but you should probably get over it. It's tough, it sucks, but is better facing it.
That said...
- keyboard: I won't miss the physical keyboard. I write in 3 languages, and no layout satisfies all 3 at the same time. Plus, QWERTY was though for using two hands, not two thumbs. I prefer T9 over QWERTY (yes, I'm serious). And a physical adds a serious cost due to the localization of the hardware, and so on.
- FM radio: if the list of packages (the output of dpkg -l) was legitimate, it has a wl1273 chip, which means it has at least the hardware to do FM receiving and transmitting (as well as a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0).
- IR: I would probably play with it one day at some place, like doing pranks at a friend's house and switching channels of the TV or something, but I find little value on IR.
- Stereo speakers: good riddance. I can't have a stereo experience with two speakers set apart the size of a finger.
- hardware lock switch: why do you want a lock switch when you can use the power button? Adding physical buttons complicates a lot the design. I hate to praise Apple, but the less buttons you put in it, the better. Using the volume key to shoot a photo is the way to go, IMHO.
Well, I could go on and on. In general, I understand that to some people some features are valuable, but you have to understand that is not that valuable for a big majority. My dream phone certainly has removable battery and memory, but with honesty, I never ever had two batteries or two memory cards for the same device.

screen i believe is rumored to be 4".... so 0.1" less than n8x0 is a deal breaker?

@suy i see your point no device will fit all needs so maybe this device isnt targeted at us loco power user but hopefully it will be hacked and modded by the community into something that fits our power user needs

Are really free to do whatever we want with it? Flashing, OS switching and so on?
I know none could answer that until the release

).As for the buttons, few is good, but I do think the camera button is a nice one to have. Maybe it could double as the maximize button (I don't even know if it still is in th n900)
But certainly the fewer movable partes the better. My N800 lost the back magnet and the "pop-out" camera doesn't "pop-in" anymore. Very smart choices to get rid of these problem with solid front and back cameras, and putting 32/64GB of memory inside already.
But the keyboard... I don't know... I had to live with one to know how good or bad it is. But you must remember something, folks... the hinge-based sliding keyboard substitutes the need for a kickstand. That is something that I use quite a lot.
