I've used it for about a week now and the only bug I have discovered is that it sometimes disconnects and reconnects on its own accord. It happens about once or twice a day and I've never actually had it happen to me while I was using the device, I just hear the MSN sign in sound while the device is in standby.

Unfortunately it doesn't seemto support many features, i think it only provides the basic text chat.
Basic text chat is good enough for me, where is this located, extras-devel?

Yep, you'll find it in extras-dev

here's the link as well: http://maemo.org/packages/view/telepathy-msn-pecan

Another bug I forgot to mention is that every time pecan has to reconnect, it resets your screen name to your hotmail/live address.

I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

I noticed that after removing haze I have a "null" group in my contacts. Is there any way to move the contacts that are in "null" to sim contacts? These are contacts that I had merged while using haze. Would prefer not to have to delete all those contacts.

Sorry can't help you there, I never actually tried haze. I would probably try installing pecan before deleting the contacts to see if they get recognised as msn contacts.

A reboot sorted out the null group after I deleted those contact. Pecan only connects when I use the "http" method, read on the project page that this can be unstable hope it is ok. Do you think the http method will cause battery life to be worse than regular?

edit: well it works however I notice people are only gettig my voicemail when they call. My e71 I used talkonaut and it would disconnect always ah well..

So I'm loving the Haze plugin (and Butterfly?), and have my YahooIM and AIM accounts up and running. I love the integration with the messaging thread system and all that, and that I finally get a beep and indicator when I get an IM, which Pidgin was never able to do. Thanks to all and great work on this!

I do have one thing I miss, and wonder how hard it would be to do. Right now the only way to know who's online or not is to browse your contacts and sort by Availability. It's nice, but shows all 400+ contacts (sorted with on-line first, which is nice). A desktop widget would be best, one that just showed active people would be great.

Is there something like this already? If not, it would make a great quick project for someone looking to play with widgets and RTCom.

In the contact screen, you can click on Contact header and group your contact by any group you like. So you can scroll through your IM friends only.

Open contacts and tap top "all contacts" and select groups. You can also sort them by availability.
