just called nokia UK for an update as the wesbite no longer has the line
"Available : Mid November"
the lady on the phone said they will take stock of the phone on 9th November and shipping will commence thereafter.

I've looked at the offerings of the others, and none of them are at all clear on whether you can do such things as tethering. Speaking to various CS reps wasn't much help either.
