I've also tried using "Tele2 WAP" (tele2 norways mobile internett accesspoint) as APN-name.

Fmms connects to wlan when I try to send a mms - and gives me error 113 'no route to host'

I've choosen connection mode polite

Has anyone any tips/hints??

Access point name should be 'internet.tele2.no' or something similar, check http://wiki.maemo.org/MMS, and since you are running in "Polite" mode you have to manually connect to the MMS access point before sending.

I'll look in to it, might be the imageviewers fault ;-)

However the N900 LED does not indicate that a new message has been received (blinking in blue) and I'm not sure if any sound indicates the reception (I didn't hear anything). I do not know if these issues have already been discussed. Anyway, do you plan to include those improvements to fMMS?

Thanks for your great program, it is working perfectly for me.

Cheers.
The MMS notification uses sound and LED settings for E-mail, which is why you probably aren't noticing it (I think).

EDIT: It seems that now when it wants to download an mms it goes for the normal internet connection. Can I bypass this somehow?
No, I'd say it's Maemos fault unfortunately

Thanks everyone, and sorry for lack of updates, in the process of moving so not having much time for this currently

EDIT: Uploaded 1.1.9 which fixed the translation issues with spanish, thanks everyone

After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!

this app is made to replace the missing MMS function in the N900, Where the MMS is missing or never going to be officially included in the Os by Nokia, fMMS is a third party application that will trying to filling one of the missing area of what the N900 can't do.
You should already know what MMS stand for by now, if not then here is the full words: Multimedia Messaging Service.

This app will allowing you to send pictures to your friend but not yet included the sound or video capability.

Ya I get it now. I actually had not even checked to see if you could send a multimedia message because I assumed it was built in. What in the world were they thinking? This is a great phone but jeez, the idea with newer phones is to build and add on to existing functionality, not cut out bits and pieces...

Actually, the only reason I would send pic messages to people is only if they don't have email on their phones...i think its kind of silly not to have an email enabled phone nowadays where you pay a monthly fee for unlimited data usage...but for friends that don't, this app is cool, and obviously needed. Also, I got it to work...just needed to edit the settings to apply to T-mobile in the US.

Also, I should assume that I am being charged for these MMS messages right? at their respective costs from my operator? or are messages sent through fmms somehow bypassing that?

Just a quick thank you for a great app.

I have been battling with trying to get this to work with Saunalahti Finland. Re-checking all the settings and going nuts doing it. Finally got the thing working.

Running the reset commands did the trick. I have no idea what was wrong, but everything worked perfect after that. So those struggling with the settings...you might have everything down correctly, but at some point the setting in fmms have been corrupted and it doesn´t reset itself to the new parameters.

So do have a go at the following:
Reset all settings:
gconftool-2 -R /apps/fmms|grep apn
Should return: apn = xxxx
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/xxxx
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/fmms

After this, just send yourself a mms and you will also receive it(hopefully)

Infact, I would recommend this to be the FIRST troubleshoot you should try, if you believe your settings to be correct.

I'm having problems with the new version downloading and sending where it worked fine in previous version. Am on Vodafone UK. All settings are per the WIKI.

I tried the above but didn't seem to do much, didn't get the "apn = xxxx" though? Do I need to be root to do this?

I hope someone will reply,
Does this cost, normally MMS messages cost extra, im just wondering if it costs, or whether it is sent through the internet for free.

Also i sent a picture to someone to tes that mine worked, it did but then a message came up saying: "message was deleted due to no legal rules found for this media"
Can anyone explain this please? Thanks.
