It would be readily apparent. After the N9 booted up, was there a splash page by a carrier. Are there any pre-loaded apps by a carrier? For example. Sounds like no. I just ordered 64gb from Negri and am very fearful that it will be branded. Likely to be slower in getting updates as a result.

Just ordered a black 64gb from Negri Electronics in Las Vegas, NV. I was gonna wait for a white but decided I liked black and didnt want to wait for a white and find out they were back at $1000 shipping from Australia.

So Negri has the 64gb for $829.

No no carrier just plain but the funny thing is for some reason i have no wallpapers or videos or songs that would come with the phone when you 1st get it . Im starting to think this phone was flashed. I really wouldnt care but i really liked one of the wallpapers that i saw on youtube that came with the phone . The phone works fine so far i hope you get yours soon and its not branded.

Just received the Cyan 16gb N9 from Negri.

It's the singapore version - UNBRANDED

It takes two days to ship from HK, it's almost overnight. I'd suggest Negri for people trying the purchase UNBRANDED 16gb N9's in any color.

From what people are saying, the 64gb is indeed carrier branded when bought from Negri.

So that's a +1 for Negri in my book.

I was very skeptical in the beginning btw.

Just received my second Nokia N9 64GB from welectronics.com. This one is straight from Nokia with No Branding. No videos appear on boot. I have found a way to remove any boot videos on branded phones. This worked for the SingTel branded phone I received earlier.

I recommend both welectronics.com and negrielectronics.com.

Negri Electronics - Singtel version
Welectronics - Unbranded version

I ended up canceling the Negri order and went with Welectrioncs. A little more, $836 shipped, but I like the idea of a non-branded phone.

My 64gb n9 from Negri was unbranded, but point taken that there is still some uncertainty as to what you will actually get...
