exactly. and distributing the dev device was in fact the plan until some days before the MeeGo Conference, confirmed by more than this one source of mine. even semi-confirmed by the maemo council as far as I remember.
The U8500 is the SoC Nokia will be using for their Windows Phone devices. If it will be used in their first devices: I don't know. Based on the statement that the Consumer Harmattan Device will use the same SoC as their first Windows Phone devices, I assumed it will be the U8500.
Clear enough?

This thread really reminds me of PR1.2 thread last year.
I've never refreshed the TMO site this often this year!
Anyways, it's keeping me busy updating my blog page. lol

That would be Qualcomm then because Nokia is using Qualcomm first. Said by Nokia's spokesperson as did Qualcomms so it can't get much more official than that.
Nokia's WP might use U8500 later on, but Nokia hasn't said anything about that, just ST-Ericsson.
And i very much doubt Nokia would use Qualcomm on their own project, neither is there any hint of that anywhere in the mailing lists. OMAP3 is still where my bet is like it has been for past 6 months.
