yes this is good , the problem would be to "kernel module joydev"

Disable "Xiaoka Maemo Extras" repository in app manager and try again.

Quick question, apologies if this has been covered already but is it only the sixaxis buttons that work or do the analog thumbsticks also work?

Just did but I'm still not sure what the answer is. I have the sixaxis buttons working ok in various emulators but the analog sticks are not active - does that require the kernel to be rebuilt?
