Hi,

I got a question about the behaviour of N9QT and Developer Mode.

I flashed my devide a couple days ago and I installed N9QT v9.4 yesterday. Developer Mode was not enabled when I installed it.

- I activated developer mode and executed N9QT.
- I did a full bakup before applying any tweak.
- I tweaked the "Smartsearch" priority.
- I quit N9QT and disabled developer mode.

Is there any risk having done this with the "developer mode" or should it not be any problem?

Thanks and congratulations again for this GREAT APP!!.

So, it is ok to keep doing this procedure? I suppose that N9QT is not able to do any of the tweaks if developer mode is not enabled, right?

enable developer mode -> tweak something -> disable developer mode.

thanks!

Why the paranoia with developer mode?

It doesn't harm your phone; leave it enabled...

Can you use 6.5 on DD->5 or it need to be one number.

Well, I realized that when developer mode is enabled, I am not able to charge the phone while it is off. It always boots the phone once the charger is connected.

If the developer mode is disabled, I can change the phone when it is off (showing the big charging logo). It is also possible to do the battery calibration.

And I am someone who likes to sleep with my phone switched off :-) :-)

Power off your phone by pressing the power key for 8 seconds and you should be able to charge it while off; it won't boot up then...

Also there is a very simple way to make terminal always visible regardless of developer mode being activated; you can then use N9QT with dev mode disabled too IIRC...Just I don't remember the exact way on getting terminal out; i'll search and post...

Edit: Ok found it

as root in terminal do:
Code:
cp /usr/share/applications/meego-terminal.desktop /home/user/.local/applications/share/Terminal.desktop

Now you should be able to disable developer mode and still have terminal...
