I understand that you have a need to feel as if you matter.
Even being..important.

It's ok...really..it is...

To make it clear for UK users, those who got the update is because they flashed it to the Global version before.

UK specific version isn't out yet (as of 4:20pm) hence you don't see the update if you have 203 (Nokia UK/unlocked) or 205 (Vodafone specific)

  • restarted phone
  • open app manager
  • Created backup when update program offers

  • Everything was in place after the upgrade, documents, music, movies, configs, EVERYTHING

Please people first read the previous messages in this topic and maybe follow this steps.

First impressions: way too faster FOR EVERYTHING in the device, even third party applications wich took much time to start, now are faster.

Lets see if this continues with the usage of the day. :-)
thanks mate, worked for me!

Finally, I was able to update after disabling all repositories. I still don't understand why we have to do go through all this stupid stuff when there is 32GB builtin flash. I know rootfs is different than the regular storage area but there should be some way for Nokia to fix this issue.

no, there are many other people who knows things better than I. havent seen many of those in this thread though, probably good time to look at the mirror? and my announcement means one helper less. how many helpers you afford to loose within this thread? I hope atleast someone will have motivation to follow this but it is really looking bad if the tone doesnt change....

call to texas instruments and ask why in the heavens name they didn't offer over 256mb integrated fast flash chips to n900's omap processor chip in 2008.

Tintin is only saying what a lot of us were thinking, so yes thanks from me to him. You may know a lot m0re than the people asking help but your attitude is a disaster bordering on down right rudeness. If you could lose the ignorance and arrogance you'd be a lot more helpful. and it would be appreciated. Apologies if English is not your first language, but there is no excuse for calling people "stupid". And to think you are a "Maemo greeter", if you don't have the patience to deal politely with newbie questions (even if it's the same q again and again and again which I understand is frustrating..) then you're better off going to take a lie down somewhere in a dark room and not saying anything at all.

Also Tintin has a lovely white dog, and deserves thanks for that alone.

And newbies.. learn to search more! There's almost nothing you're going to ask that hasn't already been answered several times in this thread already!
