@HNS Is there an easy way to get Grumby to scroll through my widgets? Right then now lets find a Twitter and Jaiku thingy.

You mean automatically loop through widgets in play mode? I'm planning to do that, probably in the next version. For now you have to manually switch through movies using the D-Pad buttons (center button will exit play mode and go back to channel overview).

Oops, sorry. That's because the package section was "libs". I updated the package, it now lists in "user/libs" and should work in blue pill mode.

Install the python2.5-gnome-extras package first (it contains the python gtkmozembed binding), then the grumby package. It requires OS2008 and runs reasonably well on my n800 (with an occasional segfault, probably related to gtkmozembed and flash movies).

Two more screenshots to wet your appetite. Have fun, and let me know how it goes.

PS: I hope the Chumby guys don't feel threatened by this kind of "parasitic" app. I don't think IT users are so numerous that their servers will be thrashed, and there should be some potential buyers too. I, for one, am quite likely to get a chumby once they're available outside the US. So if you like this, please consider buying a chumby!
Any chance this will work on 2007HE?

I've just bought one. I'll let you know how it works out.

Hello,

I installed the grumby player on my n800 with OS2008. I followed the instructions and created a chumby account and then a virtual chumby. I pasted the code into the settings and *do* see the channels I have selected in a list (including pictures). However, I can't seem to get any of the channels to actually do anything. I can scroll up and down in the list, but as soon as I press the center button, nothing further happens. After this, the highlight doesn't move anymore in the list. Any suggestions on what might be going on? I am very interested in this application, as I am considering buying a chumby and thought this would be a great way to see what it's like! Thanks for any help you can give.

Great work! I'm really enjoying adding various widgets to the program and letting them scroll while the n800 is propped on my desk at work. Thanks for putting in the hard work to make this app happen!

I'll second the request for the app to cycle through the various widgets. That would be great!
