I'm running the Garnet VM with several apps. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. My only problem is hot-syncing. The hot-sync always ends on a protocol error on the last application (SplashShopper).

Any ideas?

Cheers!

To enter the swirly tilda "~"
Press the top 2 keys on the left (blue arow and Sym keys)
Select ~ in resulting symbol list
Press Space key (no idea why, just tried "likely" keys until it worked)

javispedro's shortut to getting a virtual SD card works on the N900

Run X Terminal
As reposted previously, enter following:

$ mkdir ~/.gvm/cards
$ echo -e "/media/mmc1\nRW" > ~/.gvm/cards/0

I haven't tried installing via it yet, but hope this helps.

On outlook hotsync configure to uncheck "backup". That will do, Other problems are run out of space. Palm desktop should be the same situation.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using using the Palm desktop to backup the GVM, so I'm not sure if I want to uncheck "backup".

What do you trying to backup? I enable todo/calender/contacts/task, and they sync well. But crashed when backup is enabled. I think the backup backup things in the system and that is why it crashes. O/w you can specifically specify the sync item and it should be fine. Please report back whether that is the case, at least that is how I use sync. Stay away from backup.

Edit: Is your last apps attempt to write to the card? I found out any attempt to write to SD card by hotsync with crash the hotsync. Have NOT figure out a way around it. Yes, you can manually write to your SD card, but hotsync is "stubborn", I guess
