I've learned the above from my source just today and while I cannot name him, I can say I trusted him before!
If true then that is very good news. If only that it will get some of the "whaa gps sucks" posters to drink a big glass of stfu

Excellent info.. could you provide a source?

I'm not doubting you.. but always good to have a link ready in the arsenal of information.

Also.. I'd be surprised if the *sole* reason was Ove Maps... M6 is entirely built around QT.. I'm thinking they are bringing QT to M5 so that it can retain compatibility with M6.

NVM.. I missed the bottom of your post.. an unknown source - got it.

You'll forgive me for taking your 'news' with a pinch of salt (the same as rumours on Twitter). Unsourced rumours are ten-a-penny. This sounds too much like 'what I want to hear'.

that's preposterous. if you'd only know anything about complex dynamics, chaos etc mathematical stuff, you would know why weather forecasts usually go wrong. creating a twitter account and posting one tweet isn't hard at all but making a forecast even for next 5 hours is something that only a few can do even with all possible data available......

Sorry Ossipena, I live in a part of the world prone to microclimates which are nigh on impossible to predict. You can have bright sunshine a couple of miles away from lying snow, or thick fog. As a result no-one believes the weather forecast - it's a bit of a joke.

I'm well aware of the huge effort and amazing technology that goes into meteorology, but down here the weather forecast is as likely to be right as someone tweeting (or posting) rumours from 'a reliable source' they won't name.

I would take unsourced rumours with a truckload of salt, if I were you ;-)

I heard from a trusted unknown source that the next update will bring OMAP4 cpu to the N900, and Multitouch 3D screen too!! All coming on the next PR1.3 update!!!

I don't believe anything until I actually see it.

Mine is better: standard videocall and 2 days autonomy with PR2.5... before summer!

Oh, fantastic! Is this the update, which comes on 1/4/10 and enables you to fully remove the keyboard from your N900?

I think that is an excellent new Maemo feature, when you don't need the physical keyboard, you just remove it and have the thinnest, most powerful touch smartphone on the market!!4!
