Is it possible to combine this with the 'disable-wlan' option?

I'm using a seperate applet for unloading the wifi drivers to save battery time.

It would be nice if your applet does that automaticly when switching to a 2/3G connection and reload wifi drivers when switching back to wifi.

Hi,

thank you all for testing.
There is a bug in the settings dialog. You always have to
set your internet connection in the settings dialog even if you
only want to change the icon size or the displayname.
Sorry for this, I will fix this and upload a new version later this day.

"...the 'disable-wlan' option?"
Well, I hoped the the next maemo update would solve this. And you
dont need applications like the wifi-switcher anymore to save the battery.
But I dont know if this is the case. I will look at wifi-switcher how
this works.

In this post http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...4&postcount=17
I described how to change the connection icon, for those people who
like to use their own icons.
Now I like this option too. What do you think, should I make this
configurable through the settings dialog?
And may someone help me with some default icons. I think
4 to 6 icons for different connection types should be enough.
For example:
GPRS - Internet
GPRS - MMS
WIFI - Home
WIFI - Work
WIFI - ...other, public, open...
preferred icon size 96x96 and two icons per connection type,
one for "connected" and "disconnected".

regards nicolai

Hi !

Could you also consider my question please, to bring up the "setting wrench icon" (at desktop edit mode) higher (till its bottom aligned with the application icon bottom) so it could be placed to the edge of the screen please ?

Many Thanks for your help and answer,

Andrew

Hi,
sorry but I can not change the position of this wrench icon.
It is always at the lower left corner.
And this position stays the same, even if you change the
icon size. But you can remove and add the widget from the
desktop after changing the icon size. Now the wrench icon
should be at the correct position.

New version (0.6) is in extras-devel.
The settings dialog works again now.
It is installable from there again, no need to upload
it here.
thank you for testing and I hope
it is useful.

Hi nicolai, i use my own icons so they match the N900s default theme, i can upload them in the morning if you want them?
Heres a screen crop of the wifi connected icon ..

Name: Screenshot-20100419-223155.jpg
Views: 292
Size: 6.6 KB

when its disconnected the blue signal part turns grey, iv also made them for a GPRS connection, i will upload them also.

I can also make new icons for you, they will also match the Maemo 5 UI icons.

Would you like the 1s iv made (wifi connected/disconnected and GPRS connected/disconnected) or would you like new redesigned icons for home, work etc?
