Hi,
I have the same problem with my N900, the battery lasts only about 2-4 hours when I'm not even using the phone.
The phone is also extremely slow when I try to use apps, open text/instant messages etc.
When I type "top" in Xterminal, i get this:
Any ideas what to do? If there are no other solutions, I'm probably going to reflash the device. The only problem is that I don't even know how to do that. Could someone give me clear instructions how to reflash the N900?
Thanks in advance!

I think some peoples issues are to do with Modified Hildon Desktop. If you have this installed at the moment, try updating it to 1.4 (update was released yesterday...).
I HAD this app installed, removed it together with a load of other stuff trying to figure the problem out and still had the ridiculous battery drain. Searching the forums, someone mentioned the update had fixed their issue... so I have just re--installed (v1.4) and battery eye has noticably levelled out in the last 30 mins or so!!

Your results look very similar to mine which I posted yesterday. I did everything suggested in the thread with no solution and decided to just reflash. Now I am getting CPU usage as low as 5% when previously it was always above 50%. I had to connect to my laptop to transfer some stuff so it ended up being charged a bit but based on my usage before that it looked like it was going to very very comfortably make it through the day when previously it could only last four hours at the very best.
