@Maharadja

Do you have the SVG file to produce this GUI ?
Is it possible to add small status icon into a thin bar ( FM, phone, Message icons ) ?

like the design too, particularly the on/off button icon. and overlapping the default media player widget is a stroke of genius (closed source equals massive pain i believe! maybe not so much for media controls? i dunno.)! however you seem to have left out the RDSnotify status (or were you planning to have that hidden/ left in settings?) which would be a shame, specially with babel0 on board for the programming!

also with the size of the buttons and all 6 so close together this would be very difficult to use while driving, so not so good for the bigger n functional mock up, but definately fits into the small and pretty corner!

Transmitter and receiver can hardly work at the same time.

One problem that I ran into is that the FM radio application only works when the headphones are plugged in. It uses the headphones as an antenna, but you can still use the stereo speakers on the N900. The transmitter, however, only works when the headphones are not plugged in, so I couldn’t test running the transmitter and the receiver at the same time.

It is quite probable that the FM transmitter would, if it were operating at the same time as the FM receiver, desensitise the FM receiver, causing its Automatic Gain Control (AGC) to wind down thus preventing good signal reception, even with the transmitter and receiver tuned to different frequencies.

But:
The transmitter can also receive the signal level on the tuned frequency. This enables transmitter application to scan all frequencies, checking for vacant ones, and suggesting empty frequencies to the user for selection as transmission frequencies.

--------------------------------------------------

So, has anybody done an application which would push the frequency of the transmitter to the next free frequency?

well, I could make an bigger one. But what do you prefer? a nice small one or the big chunky one.Personnaly I only have the mediaplayer on(no changing in freq 'n stuff)
about the sms and tag status, i could implement that on the top of the widget. ill make a change to the .psd
it will take some time because i only have my N900 atm.

well i've mentioned in previous posts my preferred implementation would be something easily operated while driving, without having to look, so bigger buttons spaced further apart, less of them, (3main large buttons, maybe more smaller ones if need be) and probably vertically aligned so they could be dragged to the edge of the screen.
but it seems a lot of folk prefer the small and pretty option, anything that helps clear up the clutter is welcome anyway!

SVG is a vector format PhotoShop cannot export as SVG ?

This is the SVG of FM RDS notify widget https://garage.maemo.org/plugins/scm...fy&view=markup

With SVG you can name part of widget and i adress them from code.

SVG can be produced with free environment like Xara or Inkscape... I think Adobe Photoshop can do that too

Ok so I can export to SVG in Illustrator, but what do you excactly need? an svg file of all the buttons in all their states?(on/off) and the backgrounds? or just one svg with that mock up...

@ babel0, i'm sure u know about the bug where rdsnotify randomly disappears? its only a minor nuisance at the moment since u can jjust re-add it when you notice, but i assume you'll have a look at this for the new version? as it'd be a bit more annoying if all the fm controls disappear altogether! :S

Youhave to export SVG of the whole widget. And name button or label inside SVG. For that you have a propertiy Object ID.

Give them some good name like POWER, PLAY, NEXT. If you want light on them then create a second object at same place with a different look and call it POWER_ON for example.

Thanks,

Fabrice
