Timenow shows the time only for 6 seconds after proximity sensor gets uncovered, so even if you pull the N900 out of your pocket every five minutes the total time shouldn't be too much for all day.

It fits the usecase of pulling the N900 out of pocket just to see the time. Also if the N900 is on the table, it's far easier to hover your finger over the proximity sensor than press the power button. (which has a bug and needs two clicks sometimes)

Following today's discussion on IRC, upgrade using proximityd (dependency of shortcutd) is coming

Keeping my thumbs, qwazix! Your implementation of clock is most we can have on our resources, without moar power usage.

thanks for testing, I didn't check if it worked in portrait (in fact I I thought that it should be always landscape as the time is written directly to the framebuffer. I'll have to check it.

portrait bug fixed, qt-lockscreen bug probably fixed, please give it a try.

Proximityd not yet, seems like a lot of work and I want to do some other things today.

By the way it should be soon @Extras-devel (it already has taken a long time in the corridors of the autobuilder)

Now in extras devel
