the release date of nokia n9 in denmark for the operator 3. is 30.sep.

they say the interest for nokia n9, is only surpassed by iphone 4

but I still wait for a date when the blue will be available

I have to wait until the Cyan and the Magenta are available. The Cyan for me and the Magenta for my girlfriend.

Um, what are you talking about? Of course I know what 802.11a is.

We identified way back through several findings, that it was "probably" coming.*
But official doco is still inconsistent, that was my only point.

As others have just pointed-out, there's some official doco that indicates it's coming.
But consistency in official doco everywhere, would be nice.

Removes that anxious feeling that perhaps it's just ****-house doco.

*CBF'd digging it all up again....

Well, we know the phone supports the 5ghz band, and I think 802.11 is the fastest on that, so it's probably in. Jalyst, honest question though-does it really matter? 802.11a is a pretty old and unpopular format, and most wi-fi modems/routers support b/g/n or are bimodal, so the probability of finding an exclusively 802.11a network is pretty slim.

Yes in some ways it's a backward step from Maemo, but certainly not compared to iOS or stock Android.

Also, there is too much reliance on the iPhone-like grid of icons.
I hardly ever need to go to the application list in Freemantle.
Yeah why not make the application list also the multi-tasking list, & thus reduce the homescreens to 2.
You could make it clear which apps are running, by making them brighter or similar.
But I guess such an approach would bring some of it's own usability problems.

What don't you like about the grid of icons in the application list, how's it any diff to Maemo?

*better in some respects, because it's the actual app, not an abstraction of it.

a has it's uses, especially in crowded places like expo's.
when everyone has their g networks up next to each other, all the 2.4gHz channels are flooded with traffic, but the 5GHz range of a & n are still pretty free.

Increasing popularity in 5GHz n is going to diminish that opportunity in the future tho
