100,000 employees and still quickly shrinking. Right?

That might be true but, along with the other details, it looks like the same dance I've seen so many times that I can't help noticing a certain amount of similarity and pattern here.

True enough--to be perfectly accurate, they didn't sell it yet but do you think it won't happen? They seem pretty intent on carrying this out as a way to keep themselves alive.

What?! Why aren't my ban-button clicks getting registered??

How's the stock doing? The general trend in this stock appears to be ill to me--perhaps Nokia could try to fix that by genuinely competing? They're not trying very hard. Stock, stock. Next topic?

Right.

We have not lost stock talk in this talk, that's just bull.

There were several graphs of stock development and talk of the cause of it as late as yesterday. The Helsinki sxc has been closed for the night. I can't be posting developments when there aren't any. So if anyone would want updates, there's always New York.

It's still a bit early to put out a graph of today, as the current graph only shows 20+ minutes. So for now, let's once again have a look at the development the last few days, in a month perspective.

From € 1.96 to 2.20, with perfect timing there's money to be made on Nokia. Sell when Lumiaman is buying, he always seems to know the peaks.

NOK sitting currently at $3.06 in NYSE premarket. Nokia recorded their 6th straight loss but, according to analysis I'm reading now, the results are pretty dire but not as bad as feared - due in part to bumper Nokia Siemens Networks profits (the best profits NSN ever recorded). Net cash in the company has gone down from $4.2bn in June to $3.6bn this quarter, beating estimates of $3.4bn. Investors still have some hopes for the November launch of the new Lumia handsets which is holding the stock price up at the moment. There isn't a lot of room to go up but once/if those hopes should disappear, the price could half.

Small victory for Windows and Nokia, but still a victory.

The high volume flurry of peaks and troughs at 12:00-ish is probably caused by automated trading systems kicking in

Edit: stock price looks to be starting to drop a little and flirting at the $3.00 mark on NYSE premarket. It briefly hit $2.98 before coming back at $3.03

I also see Google have announced an event on the same day as the Windows 8 launch event - http://www.reghardware.com/2012/10/1...october_event/

Crafty Google is hosting an announcement a week on Monday - the same day Microsoft will be formally launching Windows Phone 8. It’s also less than a week after Apple is expected to announced the ‘iPad Mini’.

Nokia Bears Fooled Again
SHARE:

As I predicted yesterday, Wall Street’s Nokia perma bears turned out to be out to lunch for the second quarter in a row. Nokia beat revenue consensus by more than 200 Million euros and delivered a tiny adjusted operating profit instead of the expected loss. The share price is up 9% in Helsinki. Exactly as with 2Q12, the revenue and margin surprises were created by the powerful Asha feature phone sales in emerging markets. By far the biggest shocker in the 3Q report was the feature phone volume, which grew by 3 Million units from 2Q12 to 3Q12. The slick new UI and the app quality of the Asha range is clearly a step above what the third-tier brands are able to deliver in the sub-100 euro category. Nokia is making gains particularly in 60-90 euro bracket – and that is why Nokia’s overall feature phone ASP did not decline from 3Q11 level. That was a major surprise for investors.
