Today, it's over the air for UK only!

what i did eventualy is use the nokia software update to reinstall the current firmware. *WHICH GOT RID OF EVERYTHING SO BE WARNED*.
then over the air update worked. shame because i had gltron install so could have gotten rid of that and reinstalled. never mind only had 9mb rootfs so needed a good flashing.

Your N900 will not go into usb/flash mode unless you have a full battery (i forget what the cut off % is)
also if you apply a little gentle pressure to the charger/usb plug you will see that the 2 clips that hold it in will sit a little lower putting less pressure on the port when you pull the lead out, ive done it to my charger and usb lead and they still stay in securley but no longer feel like they are gonna pull something loose when pulled out

This is getting beyond a joke now.

- OTA - Does not work, says I need to connect to PC
- USB - Takes about 5 tries and lots of fiddling to get the phone to give me the option to connect as mass storage or Pc suit mode.
- NSU - says no latest firmware, try reinstalling, reinstalls then stops and says there was an error with the USB connection. Phone frozen and need to take battery out.

I wait this long for this update and I cant even update. Good Job Nokia, you're inches away from losing another loyal customer.

sounds like some body was carefull with there usb port . find a nice flat and steady are to lay ur wire and fone out so it wont move after you have it connected.

reistall same firmware. after this is done check for over the air updates you will have to re sync with ur wireless after the update tho.

* you lose everything in your fone so back up everything you want*
