elop just trying to stop meego, bringing it support down and sales limited.
n9 turns into a success nokia will have to rethink strategy, but elop is making sure that doesnt happen.

wp7 sales are going to be bad, but they won't restrict 100k meego devices that are going to be produced.

It's clear that ElOp is very much interested in Meego. He accelerated N9 release and has personally been involved in making it happen. If this device is a success, and I hope it is, you will likely see one high end Meego device per year. This is a consumer device and I don't understand all the whining from the Linux mutants. This device rocks!!!

2) is there a way of dropping a contact into the app menu so that he'/she is clickable so that i directly can choose between sms/email/skype etc? otherwise it would mean that one would need to open the contacts app every time, even with people you have a frequent interaction with.

the n900 handles both nicely..
1) All integrated.

2) Not that I know of, but you can mark contacts as favourites so they appear at the top of the list.

Thank you for the info. Since you are in the know, could I also ask something?

Is there a categories support on calendar events? Namely can you mark a calendar item "private" (when synchronising it to a shared calendar)?

not sure if this is covered somewhere but...

as we know, the n9 has no buttons
except the volume buttons and the power button..

but if u check out the specs on the official nokia site:
http://www.nokia.com.au/find-product...specifications

"Dedicated power, camera and volume keys"

camera button??

i hope so!

All the time I hoped for the same. but for a few weeks now, I don't care anymore... It really annoys to me enter the unlock code every 15 minutes...

Luckily, I'm in a position where I'm not obligated to have my corporate mail on the go. Contacts & Calendar I don't mind to sync via cable / BT...

how does the webbrowser compare to that of the n900 (ignoring the fact that the n9 comes without flash)?

what about the email-client (this is the only are where the n900 really sucks to this day)?

Oh common, it has 1 gb of
RAM, that is all you need to make it smooth. 1gHz is plenty of processing power

Oh man... I hope it comes soon... I'm finding myself double-tapping on the locked screen of my N8 too often since yesterday...

Nokia N9 will not be sold in the UK !!!

This is just speculation but after reading an article on the handheld blog it appears N9 might not be sold in the UK. Say this isn’t so nokia?

Check it out yourself on Nokia check availability page, UK is missing… this has to be an oversight!
