When we have some time before announcement of that precious device, I want to hear your opinions about ecosystem around this device.

Elop's words "The battle of devices has now become a war of ecosystems, ..." are suggesting Nokia would not release a device(s) without proper app store and appropriate services. Unless Elop really want MeeGo/Harmattan to be unsuccessful.

How this device fits into "new" WP strategy? Will it be able to use all the services which Nokia gained by partnership with MS? Will it use existing Maemo.org infrastructure?

What do you think?

i think...

elop said this regarding the change from symbian to wp7, wp7 will be their ecosystem with the most smartphone models coming out.

maemo/meego will still be part of r&d in the future of nokia, that has not changed, and i really hope like many others here that nokia will bring 1 (expensive) device in 1-2 years with maemo/meego with all the newest technologies and maybe 10-15 devices per year with wp7 adopting his technology and bring it to the (cheaper) masses...

or this will be the last device of his kind from nokia...

but i dont belive that, if it will sell good and maybe even better then all wp7 phones together fail elop

I agree on all other accounts, but to me it seems like every other day is a release of a "new" firefox browser.

Crap, there is an article on the next web where the president of marketing for nokia says something disruptive will be announced on the 21st, but also says they still intend to ship a MeeGo device later this year. Does this mean no N9 this next week? crap....

We know that luovanto is one of maemo marketing people and he is going to attend Singapore event.

SO, I think that THERE will be some Maemo-Meego related launches/shows/teasers etc. on tuesday!

Don't worry.

If you haven't noticed couple of things have changed since the 5 step plan.
I don't believe we will hear about Harmattan or MeeGo from Nokia after these announcements as long as N9 isn't huge success.

New and fresh Nokia Connection rumor is that we will "only" see RM-680 and newer Symbian anna devices announced. In other words no consumer device?

So this is the biggest Nokia event this year and they are showing some "dying" Symbian Anna devices and maybe one Harmattan developer device which is not going to be sold anywhere. Sounds really good...
